The Estrogen Effect
Episode 3: Harriet Tubman- Part 2
In the second part of Harriet Tubman's story, we talk about her amazing contributions during the Civil War and her life after the war ended. She grew up as a slave who had no value according to society and yet she forged through and made a difference for so many. Her name is well known but there is so much more to her story than we hear growing up. She dedicated her life to helping others up until her death in 1913.
“When I found I had crossed that line, I looked at my hands to see if I was the same person. There was such a glory over everything; the sun came like gold through the trees, and over the fields, and I felt like I was in Heaven.” -Harriet Tubman upon crossing the line into Pennsylvania, a free state.
